Orange Creamsicle Smoothie

As you may already know I love smoothies. This smoothie tastes like a orange creamsicle in a glass.  The only difference is that is dairy free, refined sugar free, vegan and completely healthy. It is also loaded with vitamins, minerals, protein, and a big dose of vitamin C. This makes for a kick-ass breakfast smoothie that even the kids will love! You can also enjoy this as a mid-morning snack, or as a post workout thirst quencher. You can whip this up in minutes, and you’ll have an energizing drink that happens to taste like an old fashioned creamsicle that’s actually good for you.

Recipe

Ingredients:

Serves 3

1 frozen banana

1/2 cup of raw cashews ( preferably soaked in water for 2 hours)

4 dates ( pitted)

2 juicy navel oranges ( peeled and chopped)

1/2 teaspoon of pure vanilla extract

1 cup of almond milk

1 cup of ice

Directions:

  1. Combine all ingredients in a high speed blender except the ice and blend until smooth.
  2. Now add the ice and blend until smooth.
  3. Optional (add a pinch of cinnamon on top)
